A.-Enabling VNC server and connecting a ubuntu client - Ubuntu 8.10
1.- Preparing VNC Server (remote.server.pe)
admin@remote.server.pe:~$ sudo apt-get install vnc4server xinetd openssh-server
2.- Edit gdm.conf file and restart service
admin@remote.server.pe:~$ sudo vim /etc/gdm/gdm.conf
From:
#RemoteGreeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmlogin ... [xdmcp] Enable=false
To:
RemoteGreeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmlogin ... [xdmcp] Enable=true
Restart: admin@remote.server.pe:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
3.- Edit Xvnc file and restart xinetd service: (Customize login)
admin@remote.server.pe:~$ sudo vim /etc/xinetd.d/Xvnc
service Xvnc
{
type = UNLISTED
disable = no
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = no
user = administrador #User
#only_from = localhost #Uncomment for local access only
server = /usr/bin/Xvnc #Path to VNC server

Restart service:
administrador@learning:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/xinetd restart
B.-Connecting a client
1.- Install packets:
sudo apt-get install openssh-client vinagre
2.-Connecting to remote Desktop (remote.server.pe by port 5959)
2.1.-Command line:
wmunguiam@server:~$ vinagre remote.server.pe:59
2.2.-Desktop rute:
Aplicaciones / Internet / Visor de escritorios remotos
Conectar:
Anfitrion: remote.server.pe:59
